Development news

Everything is coming together, we have to leave some things out of the site, but there is nothing that is gonna break the site. I think we still have a good foundation, it will be simple without a lot of flair and that will be better for our new internet users. They should be able to navigate the site with ease. Once we are up and running we will be able to keep an eye on the site and see what people are lacking and what else can improve their Jobs4Trade experience.

Beta Testing

Our site is way overdue, but patience is a virtue right? So we have been going through the beta site and it's coming together. The more I get to play with it the more i like it. I just hope that its just as easy for our users to use as it is for us. We are developing our FAQ's right now and and the About Us. Its coming together slowly. We have a few new money making ideas too. Right now the name of the game is getting our name out there.

Partner?

So we have been wondering if we need a new partner. Someone to fill in where we left off? Or I guess a better way to put it would be someone to fill in where we stop? I think yes, but it is important that they share our vision.

Updates!!!

So the latest updates...We are still under development, it seems to be taking forever. We have started testing our Beta site and it looks good. We are looking at the end of the month as a launch date. Then the fun begins.

The Wal-Mart Effect

How do we make this mainstream? How do we convince people to look past the typical, obvious into something out of the ordinary? We put it in their face!! We show people options out of the ordinary...jobs that are off the beaten path. How many times do you go to download music and can't think of any songs? What about the meeting at work and you draw a blank? Point is that good ideas dont always hit you when its most convenient times, they come all the time. So we want to be able to "remind" you of some of the things you may have forgotten...some of the things that you might not even think to Trade for.

Presidential Inauguration

I watched Barack Obama get sworn in today. I couldn't help but be in awe of what was happening. I like the symbol of change that he has become. It makes you believe in anything, which as a a business owner is huge. We believe in the change that we can incur. There are plenty of things wrong with America today but today has shown that we as a people can overcome any adversity(even if it takes 400 years) and unite as a people. Why can't we do the same with our economy? with our community? The people you ignore, or never interact with may be the very people that can get you through a particular crisis. Hopefully our site can help to restore your faith in your fellow citizens.

New blood at Jobs4Trade

bringing more people in is tricky. Their vision may be different than that of the people who are already involved. www.Jobs4Trade.com is our site and we are set up for people to trade their services. We may be bringing more people onto the team. I was skeptical at first but after hearing different points of view and seeing that their idea for Jobs4trade is the same as ours. We are all wroking together towards the same goal and I think as long as we continue to bring people aboard using this prinicple. Its very important for any business, and i think once we start hiring, it will be a good tool to use to find employees.

How will we help?

So, how are we gonna make the world a better place. Just creating a site for people to trade or barter services isnt enough. How are we gonna affect the economy? How are we going to get people to realize that they can save money? I dont think it wil be as hard as we think.

Value yourself

SO importance is interesting when it comes to pay. Jobs4Trade is valuing our services and an interesting realization came to mind. I don't think people get paid based on the amount of work they do or their value to the company. Pay rates seem to be based on how difficult you are to replace. So how can we use this in a job bartering and job trading service website? I dont know, but I plan to figure that out. Maybe replacing your services has a value, and perhaps it can be valued at how difficult it can be to find someone else without using our site???

Marketing and Advertising

Ok, so we had a face to face with our website design team, and we are set for phase II. Advertising and marketing is next on the list. Ideas are flowing, but opportunity hasn't arisen. WE will be patient however so that we dont get ahead of ourselves in any way. We have a meeting set up with Radio One and we have contacted advertising agencies for Wal-Mart & Home Depot. I think the value of our site can really come to the forefront for some companies that supply what our customers need. Social networking is huge across the world, and S.N. with a purpose can make millions...or more.

Back to business

So...business is going, it is difficult to talk about how to start a business and run it without giving away inside information. But I suppose some things can be said safely. Our snag now is advertising. How do you get advertising on a site that isn't up yet? Thing is, since our site is about people trading services and jobs, we will be hand delivering people to home depot, lowe's and many other retailers around the nation to purchase parts and supplies. So wouldn't you think that they would be very interested in not only advertising but making sure we do well? I would. A new kind of marketing strategy that is really designed because of a recession, can certainly excel through it and beyond.

Why are men so focused on sex?

Ok, so why are men so focused on sex? Well it's a simple explanation. Let's look at both sexes...to understand you have to know what each one desires from the other. The end goal is a relationship for both sexes...we just go about it in a different way. You have to find something that separates one person from another so that you can choose someone that is special to you. What makes someone special to you?

Generally speaking, a female can assume that she can get sex from any guy that is interested in her. So she cannot use sex as a determining factor for a relationship. Instead she has to use something with more depth like conversation or personality because those are the things that set most guys apart from each other. She looks for things that mean something to her specifically, like his goals and desires, his ambitions, his drive and determinination, because those are things that unfortunately not all of us men have. It's like a female is constantly raising her standards as she gets older so that she can find Mr. Right. Once she gets to that 80%-85% compatibility rate then she is getting to that range of finding the right person for her.

Conversely, a man knows that he can get a relationship from just about any female that is interested in him, because we assume that most females would prefer to be in a relationship. So we have to find something that sets one female apart from the other, and based on my experiences, the one thing that separates one female from the next more than anything else is what she is and is not willing to do in the bed. It sounds pretty bad, but its quite true. Women generally would prefer to be in a relationship with the right guy, and they are also more focused onimproving themselves for the future than we are. So finding a woman who wants to be in a relationship isnt as hard as a female finding a man that wants to be in one. So we have to look elsewhere. Men as we get older tend to lower our standards, not to anything low, but to realistic proportions. We stop looking for that video girl (or our mother's in some cases) and we find a nice attractive female that treats us well. Thing is, as a man, all we really need is 40% compatibility and good sex. lol....
hate to say it, but its quite true. We expect only 40% cause we know for a fact that there is gonna be somethings in any relationship that we wont like, so we dont even try to look for that perfect situation, but if we can find that 40% and a freak...then we are there!!!

Who is more shallow, men or women?

You know what I have realized? Men are much more concerned about looks than women are, but women are much more concerned about appearance. Proof? When was the last time ladies, that you went out first thing in the morning, with your hair a mess, breath smelling like like you didnt even look at a toothbrush...sweats and a t-shirt and some guy tried to holla? Ok, now when was the last time you saw a guy that looked bummy and you thought about talking to him, or even honoring his request for attention? Women look at shoes, not how expensive, but how clean...clean shape up...physically taken care of, clean clothes, no stains, spots, holes and that you can buy clothes that fit.

Purpose

Do you know what it takes to be great? It takes you to decide what it is that you want to do and then to be dedicated to achieving and eclipsing those goals. Let's start from the top...do you wanna be great? Do you want to be the standard or the bar that everyone is attempting to reach? Or do you feel like that isn't your purpose? Are you a foot soldier? a right hand man? Everyone has a purpose but your purpose is determined by what you allow to drive you. The thing that will make you get up at 7 am or stay up til 3, or drive 2 hours everyday, or sit in tunnel traffic, or do all the things that you really don't wanna do...but not just that...to approach these things with a positive attitude because this step gets you closer to YOUR purpose. Someone told me once to make a list of the things I want to accomplish and acquire in life. I made a fairly long list of the things i determined to be the most important to me. Next he asked me to cross of the things that I could be happy without, and finally the things I would not be very upset if i didnt achieve, and I had nothing left. I realized that with no purpose, nothing is achieved. It is overlooked, but it is the motivation that drives each of us. You have to have something in your life that won't allow you to rest until its done. I had nothing. I was so used to making plans and readjusting if I didnt reach them, that I accomplished nothing. You don't readjust the plan to you, you readjust yourself to the plan. True purpose doesn't allow the plan to change, but it changes you to fulfill it.

Object of Desire or just an Object?

So what is the difference in being an object for sex and being an object for desire? I didnt know what to write, or who I was going to direct this towards...and I had a few unorganized thoughts. It was just something that popped into my head the other day. I think there is a fine line for a woman feeling like an object for sex and object for desire. Thing is that men have the best intentions, myself included, but don't understand the difference. Who knew that an object of desire wasnt for sex..??? What madness is this? So here is an explanation. Women are very emotional and their self-esteem is not always rock solid. WHile she may not think that she is any less beautiful, she may need to hear it, she may want to hear that she is still sexy, but not have sex. She may want to know you desire her...but not by propositioning her in between the sheets, but by
doing something sweet, saying something kind, and holding her without sex. Let her know that I desire every aspect of you, not just in a way that fulfills me. Any thoughts, observations, disagreements?

What do guys want?

Have you ever wondered why guys can look at a female that he has never met before and say that he is going to marry her? Well there is a reason behind this and its true. I think it also helps understand why men can date one or many females at the same time that are all good quality women and not commit to any of them. I hear a lot that men do not know what they want. I laugh when I hear this, because I think the opposite is true, Men know EXACTLY what they want. Women are more likely to remain single(and celibate) until they find an acceptable mate. Men however are not like this. We prefer to date and search simultaneously. We keep company until we find the one that keeps our attention. For women, this is very frustrating and often leads to a decline in self confidence, because when the man finds what he IS looking for, you are sometimes left wondering what you did wrong. So what do men want? I think I can answer that, and how can a female tell if a guy is serious? That's the next blog.

Ok, ladies…have you ever met a guy that was moderately attractive, yet very sexy? Think hard..it wasn't his looks that drew you to him, it was his swagger. It was the way he dressed, smelled, walked, smiled, laughed, or any combination of any number of things. Usually the thing that is noticed with that "swag" is how he carries himself and the confidence that he exudes. Women also have swag. I was watching a movie call "Cherry Crush" and in the movie there was a female that was described as "she makes life look easy." That statement is very deep if you take the time to think about it. Men also look for a swag in their women. We notice the way you smile, the way you carry yourself, and the confidence that you have. We want to know that when times get rough, you won't fall apart at the seams. We want to feel like we can trust you with our children. We want to know that you are sweet and caring, yet firm and strong willed. We want independent, but not feminist. Obviously this list varies from guy to guy, but its all qualities that you can see from the gate. So ladies when a guy tells you immediately he is going to marry you…maybe you should take it as a compliment to your swag, and not take out a complaint at the local police station.

How do you know if he is into you?

I think that's very simple. Let's break down what a commitment is, and what goes into upholding one. A commitment is NOT a single decision that's made which enters you into a "committed state" until there is a break up. There is no commitment contract, which keeps you committed for a specific amount of time. A commitment is a recurring question that is asked at various times throughout said commitment. It is being asked the same question constantly. What makes the commitment is answering yes to that question every time. Yes I love my mate. Yes I want to be with my mate. Yes I want "us" to work. Yes I am going to give our relationship every opportunity to succeed. Yes I understand that there will be sacrifices and I think my mate is worth every one.

With that being said, think about your current or past relationships. Find an argument that you had with your mate and think about the series of decisions that led up to the fight. At some point they thought to themselves that THIS (whatever this may be) is more important than my commitment. At that point, they are no longer committed. Holding on to someone or something because you are in a committed relationship is you fooling yourself. Actions speak louder than words, and if your decisions say that you are not in a relationship, then guess what? Riiiiiight

So how can you tell whether or not someone is committed to you? Look at the decisions that they make. If you feel like their decisions are not that of a committed person, then you need to rethink your next commitment decision. It means one of two things, either they are not committed to you, or you have a difference in views as to what is acceptable decision making. But don't get hope if it's the second one, cause that is even worse than someone who just doesn't care. It is hard to see eye to eye on a lot of things, and it brings about a lot of "compromises." I put it in quotation marks, because one person deciding not to argue to keep the peace is not a compromise, its unconditional surrender. You may see that as a decision that's best for the relationship and I guarantee the other person sees it as an opportunity to get away with more than they did before.

Can we really help the economy?

That's the question I have been asked the most. I think that it can. Our site will allow people to avoid spending money on a lot of the little things that life can throw at you. Sometimes it is easier to spend some time fixing something for someone than it is to spend money on it. I think that it can be a useful part to society. In our words, we say we want to make the consumer the producer in a sense.
Sometimes we feel as if we are held hostage by some of the things we have to pay for. Money is a source of stress and one of hopelessness for millions of people. We would like to help that just a little bit. How many times have you gotten a quote on your car and wished you could have had any other viable options because the price was outrageous? How many times have you looked to get something fixed in your home, and the cost was EXACTLY what you have left in your bank account til your next paycheck? Its difficult but its reality and something has to give. We want our site to let you keep that money in your pocket and give you the chance to work for the things you need instead of paying for them. When you have more cash in your pocket, you can make mortgage payments, car payments, spend a little bit more at Christmas time, or when your are just picking up something for yourself.

What is Jobs4Trade?

Jobs4Trade is expanding. The idea was born July 23 2008 and we are growing our baby pretty well. We have completed phase I and have just started working on phase II today. Creating a website is an interesting form of business because there are plenty of roadblocks in the way, for example financing. It is more difficult to create a business plan for a company that is the first in its field and one that is web based. Creativity is certainly the number one thing needed for this. We haven't really had a lot of issues, just trying to figure out how to be innovative and fresh in our field. We wanted to take a ancient idea and modernize it for todays world, at the same time help stimulate our economy a little bit.
